Harper Community Park

Home Page

Welcome to our website. The Harper Community Park was established in 1946 and has been serving the Harper community for about 64 years. Our organization was founded with the intention to serve the community and provide a space that the town and area ranchers could meet for special events, take part in specific pastimes, raise money for special needs or organizations, or just relax and enjoy the beauty of a quiet neighborhood with a picnic.  The Park Board was created to govern the association, but involvement from everyone was explicit.  We do ask that you support our organization through regular participation in activities.

2010 Park Board Members: Damon and Beverly Clark, Jarin Arhelger, Pam Fogle, Grant Meyers, Jim and Jalyn Sivells.

SPECIAL NEWS UPDATES:
The park has been approved for a new historical marker by the Texas Historical Commission!   Stay tuned for information regarding the dedication.

The Park board is starting a Playground Drive.  Donation jars will be distributed around town in order to collect donations to be used toward a new playground system in the park.  We have $5000 dedicated to the cause, but we need additional funds to complete the project.  the completed project will cost a minimum of $15,000.00 for the system, installation, and ground work.
Anyone who wishes to donate can take the money to Security State Bank, mail to the Community Park at PO Box 124, or use the collection jars.

(This is only a representation, actual system may vary depending on monies raised.)

New flooring is needed for the bathrooms in the Hall.  Anyone interested in helping the park to obtain and install new flooring, please contact a park board member.

Tentative dates are being set for HarperFest (Fowler Concert), and the Harper BBQ Cookoff.  Check back for more details or check out the calendar for upcoming events.
